How this business-day calculator works
It counts Monday–Friday dates while skipping Brazilian national holidays, entirely in your browser. Fixed dates (New Year, Tiradentes, Independence Day, Christmas, and others) plus movable ones — Carnaval, Good Friday, Corpus Christi — are derived from the Easter computus for each year in the supported range.
Does it include state or municipal holidays?
No. Only national holidays are built in. Add state, city, or company shutdowns with the custom holidays field (one YYYY-MM-DD date per line). For hard legal deadlines, confirm against an official calendar.
Are the start and end dates both counted?
Yes. The range is inclusive of both endpoints — the usual reading of “dias úteis entre A e B”. If an endpoint falls on a weekend or holiday, that day simply does not add to the count.
How is “add N business days” calculated?
Starting the calendar day after your start date, it steps forward one day at a time and counts only weekdays that are not holidays, stopping once it reaches N. The start date itself is never counted.
Which national holidays are included?
The built-in set covers the usual nationwide Brazilian civil holidays (e.g. 1 Jan, Tiradentes, Labor Day, Independence, Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Finados, Proclamação da República, Christmas) plus Easter-derived Carnaval, Good Friday, and Corpus Christi for the years the tool supports. Banking, court, and municipal calendars can add extra days — use the custom list.
