How to test a keyboard online
This tool listens for key presses and helps spot keys that do not register, stick, or fire twice. It checks your real hardware, something a chat AI cannot do.
Why doesn’t every key match my layout?
Pick the closest layout in the dropdown (QWERTZ, AZERTY, ABNT2, and more). Detection uses physical key codes, so the highlight still works even when printed legends differ.
Some laptop keys do nothing here
Firmware keys (brightness, volume) may not send standard key events. Test letters, numbers, modifiers, and arrows first; then check media keys in the OS.
Does it work with external keyboards?
Yes. Any keyboard the system recognizes works: built-in, USB, or Bluetooth. Connect it, click the test area, and type.
