How this vacation pay estimate works

Brazilian CLT vacation pay is based on the daily salary (monthly salary ÷ 30) multiplied by the days taken, plus a mandatory constitutional one-third bonus. Employees may also sell up to one-third of their vacation days as abono pecuniário. This tool runs the simplified math entirely in your browser.

Does this include income tax (IRRF) or INSS?

No. This is a gross estimate before mandatory withholdings, which depend on your tax bracket and other factors not captured here.

What is the constitutional 1/3?

Article 7 of the Brazilian Constitution guarantees an extra one-third on top of vacation pay. It is included by default and can be toggled off for reference.

How does selling 1/3 of vacation work?

Employees can request to convert up to one-third of their vacation days into cash (abono pecuniário) instead of time off, usually requested up to 15 days before the vacation period starts.
